Title: CHEDDAR PENNIES
Categories : Appetizers, Dairy
Serving size: 1 Servings -SUSAN AARONSON PSTT79C 3/4 c Flour 1/2 ts Baking powder 1/2 ts -salt 8 oz Sharp Cheddar cheese 4 tb Salted butter Cayenne pepper; to taste Put all the ingredients into a food processor and process until a ball of dough forms. Divide dough in thirds, roll into a 1" log. Sometimes I roll the dough in poppy seeds or toasted sesame seeds. Wrap each roll tightly in aluminum foil and refrigerate for at least 4 hours. When very firm, slice into 1/8" "pennies" and bake in a preheated 425 degree oven for about 8 to 10 minutes, on an ungreased cookie sheet. When golden brown, remove from oven. Don't let these burn as they really don't taste too good. Let stand for 2 or 3 minutes and then put on a rack to cool. These may be frozen, very successfully. Simply cool the pennies and put it in an air tight container and freeze. When you want to use them, simply heat them in a 450 degree oven for 2 or 3 minutes and they'll crisp right up again. formatted for MM by Norma Wrenn npxr56b -----
